Today it is Lyn’s turn: On her blog “Travelling Italy with Lyn” she does not only show the most amazing parts of Italy, but she also passes her passion for this country to her readers … and not only for Italy but also for her home: Australia! Today she will take us to the beautiful capital of Queensland – enjoy!

Heute ist Lyn dran: Auf ihrem Blog “Travelling Italy with Lyn” schreibt sie nicht nur über die schönsten Ecken Italiens, sondern sie gibt auch ihre Leidenschaft für dieses Land weiter … und nicht nur für Italien sondern auch für ihre Heimat: Australien! I Still Call Australia Home
Travelling has been a serious passion for me for most of my life. At the age of 18 I visited Hawaii for a holiday and stayed 11 years. While living there I visited most of the Hawaiian Islands plus travelled to Canada and across the mainland of USA for a few months. I also travelled to Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand.

Das Reisen war schon immer meine größte Leidenschaft. Mit 18 Jahren habe ich eine Reise nach Hawaii gemacht und bin 11 Jahre geblieben! Während ich dort lebte habe ich die meisten der hawaianischen Inseln besucht und sowohl Kanada als auch das Festland der USA bereist sowie Fiji, Tahiti und Neuseeland.
Although born and raised in Sydney Australia, I now live in Brisbane Australia.
I am still a frequent traveller. One of the most wonderful experiences of my life was when I visited Europe 15 years ago for the first time. During that amazing time I discovered and fell in love with Italy. I have since returned to Italy many many times. I return every chance I get plus I write about Italy in my weekly blog. My family and close friends all say that I will move to Italy one day. I say to them, no I won’t cause Australia is my home.
Brisbane, where I now live, is a lovely easy and comfortable city to live in.

Auch wenn ich Sydney in Australien geboren und aufgewachsen bin, lebe ich nun in Brisbane.
Ich reise immer noch viel. Eine der schönsten Erfahrungen meines Lebens war meine erste Reise nach Europa vor 15 Jahren. Während dieser tollen Zeit habe ich Italien entdeckt und mich in dieses Land verliebt. Seitdem bin ich viele viele Male nach Italien zurück gekehrt. Ich nutze jede Möglichkeit um in dieses Land zu reisen und ich schreibe in meinem wöchentlichen Blog darüber. Meine Familie und meine Freunde sind überzeugt, dass ich einmal nach Italien ziehen werde. Ich antworte ihnen: Nein, das werde ich nicht tun, denn Australien ist mein Zuhause.
Brisbane, wo ich jetzt lebe, ist eine wunderbar einfache undbequeme Stadt.
Sometimes we forget what we have in our own back yard. When I have friends visiting and I take them to “show off” our city, my eyes are opened as I am reminded as to how much we have to offer right here in Brisbane.
When showing my visitors around, I usually include a catamaran trip on the Brisbane River. It is a great way to get a snap shot of the city and surrounding close-by areas. We always stop off at Southbank Parklands for lunch and a ride on the Brisbane Wheel.

Manchmal vergessen wir das, was wir direkt vor der Nase haben. Wenn mich Freunde besuchen und ich sie herumführe um ihnen unsere Stadt zu zeigen, halte ich die Augen immer besonders offen denn es erinnert mich daran, wieviel Brisbane zu bieten hat!
Wenn wir durch die Stadt fahren, mache ich meistens auch einen Katamaran-Ausflug auf dem Brisbane River mit unseren Gästen. Es ist eine großartige Möglichkeit einen Überblick über die Stadt zu bekommen. Weiter geht es dann zuden Southbank Parklands zum Mittagessen und für eine Fahrt mit dem Brisbane Wheel (Riesenrad).

I have been to all of these and can recommend each and every one.
Brisbane is very well positioned with great highways heading both north and south.

From my home in Brisbane it is less than an hour drive south to the world famous Gold Coast. The epicentre of the Gold Coast is Surfer’s Paradise which is the entertainment capitol of Queensland with its world class attractions, events, theme parks, beautiful beaches, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and accommodation.

Von meinem Zuhause in Brisbane fahren wir weniger als eine Stunde in Richtung Süden und erreichen die weltbekannte Gold Coast. Der Mittelpunkt der Gold Coast ist Surfer’s Paradise, die Vergnügungs-Hauptstadt von Queensland mit ihren weltklasse Attraktionen, Veranstaltungen, Freizeitparks,wunderschönen Stränden, Restaurants, Bars, Hotels und Unterkünften.
Surfers Paradise beach is a heaven for those who pay homage to the gods of the sea by attempting to become one with the waves. The beach here is a golden stretch of soft sand that provides the perfect ambiance for a day of catching waves, catching a Frisbee or just catching some sun rays.

Der Strand von Surfer’s Paradise ist das Paradies für alle die das Meer lieben und eins mit den Wellen werden wollen. Der Strand besteht hier aus weichem goldenen Sand und ist er ist perfekt um einen Tag damit zu verbringen, die Wellen zu beobachten, ein paar Frisbee’s zu fangen oder einfach ein paar Sonnenstrahlen einzufangen.
There are 14 shopping arcades in Surfers Paradise so make sure you have your walking shoes. Surfers Paradise is very casual particularly during the day time. Like most beachside resorts it is relaxing, fun and laid back.

Es gibt 14 Shopping-Center in Surfer’s Paradise – denkt also an gute Laufschuhe! Surfer’s Paradise ist sehr lässig, besonders am Tage. Wie die meisten Orte am Meer ist es sehr entspannt hier, lustig und locker!
Then heading the opposite direction from Brisbane, north, we can be at the Sunshine coast in and an hour and a half. The sunshine coast stretches from Caloundra on the southern end to Noosa up the northern end.
The area has several coastal hubs at Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Noosa Head.
Caloundra beach is a very popular destination for families with its safe beaches, family friendly accommodation and many restaurants and cafes.

Wenn man dann in die entgegengesetzte Richtung fährt, also nach Norden, sind wir in eineinhalb Stunden an der Sunshine Coast, die sich von Caloundra im Süden bis nach Noosa im Norden erstreckt.
Das Gebiet hat verschiedene Küstenorte wie Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba und Noosa Head.
Caloundra Beach ist eine bekannter Urlaubsort für Familien – durch seine sicheren Strände, familienfreundlichen Unterkünfte und vielen Restaurants und Bars bietet es sich perfekt für einen Familienurlaub an!
Noosa is an internationally known popular area with outstanding breathtaking beaches.
Hastings Street is a very popular destination for Aussies and international visitors. It offers a vast array of restaurants and cafes, great shopping with many high-end shops and it is a super place to sit and have a drink and just people watch. This is one of my favourite pastimes.

Noosa ist eine weltbekannte Region mit wunderschönen atemberaubenden Stränden.
Hastings Street ist sowohl unter Australiern als auch unter internationalen Touristen gleichermaßen beliebt. Es bietet viele Restaurants, Bars, großartige Shoppingmöglichkeiten mit vielen Luxus-Boutiquen und es ist ein hervorragender Ort um gemütlich etwas zu trinken und die Leute zu beobachten – das ist eine meiner Lieblingsbeschäftigungen!
At the end of Hastings Street is the magnificent Noosa National park which also has its own pristine beach.
Noosa main beach is a lovely beach for walking along, offering lots of swimming and surfing opportunities. This is Australia at its best.

Am Ende von Hastings Strees befindet sich der herrliche Noosa Nationalpark mit seinen unberührten Stränden.
Noosa’s Hauptstrand eignet sich hervorragend für Strandspaziergänge und bietet viele Möglichkeiten zum Schwimmen und Surfen. Das ist Australien von seiner schönsten Seite!
Just a few hours drive south from Brisbane is Northern NSW where most of my family lives. Fortunately I visit this area often. It has a beautiful climate similar to Brisbane, maybe not as hot though in the summer. Along this stunning coast line are the popular beach areas of Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour. The scenery is magnificent. This is where the mountains come down to the sea. There are dozens of villages, towns and cities along this magnificent stretch of coast line.
Of course, this is only a very small snapshot of Australia. This is what I call “Lyn’s World”.

Nur wenige Stunden südlich von Brisbane befindet sich Northern NSW, wo der Großteil meiner Familie lebt. Glücklicherweise besuche ich diese Region sehr oft. Das Klima ist hier wunderbar, ähnlich dem in Brisbane, vielleicht ein wenig kühler im Sommer. Entlang der fantastischen Küstenlinie befinden sich die berühmten Strände von Byron Bay und Coffs Harbour. Die Landschaft hier ist einfach großartig. Hier reichen die Berge bis ans Meer. Es gibt unzählige Städtchen und Orte entland dieses herrlichen Küstenabschnitts.
All das ist natürlich nur ein sehr kleiner Teil von Australien. Das ist das, was ich “Lyn’s Welt” nenne.
